Tata Motors led the CV market with 34.52%, slightly up from April but down year-on-year. Mahindra showed strong momentum, rising to 26.21%, gaining over 3 percentage points in a month. Ashok Leyland also improved to 18.20%, maintaining a solid third position. VE Commercial Vehicles and Maruti Suzuki held steady, while Force Motors saw a notable drop to 2.76% after a temporary spike in April. Daimler and SML Isuzu posted marginal gains. Interestingly, the ‘Others’ category fell sharply to 0.87%, suggesting a shift back to major players. Tata Motors led with 4,351 units (35.4%), down from last year. JSW MG surged to 3,765 units (30.6%), nearly doubling YoY. Mahindra held 2,632 units (21.4%), while Hyundai and BYD showed steady growth. Luxury brands BMW and Mercedes had minor shares. The EV passenger vehicle market is seeing strong competition with Tata’s lead challenged.
